This October, Teamster members will elect a new International Union leadership. Members and local union officers are uniting behind Fred Zuckerman for General President.
Fred leads the Teamsters United slate, a coalition for new leadership and new direction in our union.
Fred Zuckerman is the President of Local 89 in Louisville, one of the largest local unions in the Teamsters. Under Fred’s leadership, Local 89 has won strong contracts, fought subcontracting, organized nonunion competitors and protected good jobs with union wages and benefits.
He has been a leader in the movement against concessions and benefit cuts under Hoffa-Hall.
Fred is the President of Joint Council 94 and has served our union at every level of leadership from his local union to International Union Division Director.
The Teamster Convention is both a constitutional and nominating convention. Fred Zuckerman and Teamsters United have submitted constitutional amendments to strengthen the IBT and our local unions, no matter who the General President is.
Teamsters United candidates for regional vice presidents were successfully nominated in the Eastern, Southern and Central regions in voting by the delegate at the IBT Convention. We now have 19 nominated candidates.
Teamsters United leaders proudly joined our brothers and sisters at the Teamster Convention raising over $1.4 million for a new Heroin Awareness center co-founded by the head of Akron Local 24.
